Do you read?

It doesn't need batteries, either wi-fi, it will never let you down, you can trust it, it is marvelous and eternity.

Every book is a world and I'm going to open a new section of my blog where I'll be sharing quotes from some of the books i've enjoyed the most

Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Marina
"- Patience is science's mother offered Marina.
- And the godmother of dementia, 'I replied. "

"Marina told me once that we only remember what never happened"

Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind

"Words are pale shadows of forgotten names. As names have power, words have power. Words can light fires in the minds of men. Words can wring tears from the hardest hearts.”

“When we are children we seldom think of the future. This innocence leaves us free to enjoy ourselves as few adults can. The day we fret about the future is the day we leave our childhood behind.”

“Using words to talk of words is like using a pencil to draw a picture of itself, on itself. Impossible. Confusing. Frustrating ... but there are other ways to understanding.”

“Just pity him, my boy. Tomorrow we'll be on our way, but he'll have to keep his own disagreeable company until the day he dies.”

"A tree doesn't make thunderstorm, but any fool knows where lighting's going to strike"

“The best lies about me are the ones I told.”

“Practice makes the master.”
"Half of seeming clever is keeping your mouth shut at the right times"

Read, Imagine, Enjoy

Are you afraid?

I've just come back from the pool and this has been pretty much the song stuck in my head this week.

You have to be brave, believe that somehow the actions you take will be the right ones, not be afraid about the future, it will come be patient.

Enjoy your beautiful life, live in the now, and most important of all do not regret what you've done, at that time it was probably the best choice you could have so, don't waste your time apologizing trying to convince yourself or anybody else about the past business.

But remember just like freedom, nothing's free, so
push your luck,
say your prayers,
make believe you don't care,
Take a chance, sometimes is all you need.

Have you found the music that inspires you? London 2012 Closing Ceremony. Inspire a Generation

If anybody suggest you the possibility of attending to an event where you would be able to listen sounds as exclusive and important for the music story as The Beatles, John Lennon, Queen, Freddie Mercury, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, The Who, Bee Gees or la E.L.O all of them with the great work of such artist as Emili Sande, The Pet Shop Boys, Mandess, Kate Bush, George Michael, Spice Girls, Oasis, Annie Lenox, Kaiser Chiefs, Fatboy Slim, Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Taio Cruz o Take That the answer you should give could not be other but: when and where?

The closing ceremony of the XXX Olympic Games of the Modern Era was the best song that could render to the Coubertin Olympic spirit sealed a century ago because it's the music and no other ones the unique art able to rise the human spirit to the point of putting up to 90,000 people to the rhythm of "Imagine" by Lennon.
Bitish people can and should be proud of a nation of vital importance in recent centuries when it comes to music. The night of the 12th of July of 2012 will remain etched in the memory of all of those who love the sport but especially in that of all who wish to be on a level playing field, if possible with good background music.

The strokes on the Big Ben's bells announced the beginning of the end of this Olympic Games. Sir. Winston Churchill, The Union Jack and the Monthy Pithon were only examples of what was about to start.

(Emeli Sande - read all about it)

Two masterpieces of music that in two hundred years will be studied at schools as we now study the classics (Beethoven, Wagner, Chopin ...), placed upside down to respectable:

The "Imagine" by Lennon and the wonderful weirdness that is the "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen thundered strongly the Olympic Stadium and the  minds of nearly a hundred thousand souls were immediately abducted by a halo of basically peace, an immense joy and happiness shared.
The music is this and more

"Wish you where here" by Pink Floyd, the hulking great song self-titled album of 1975, "You Should Be Dancing" by Bee Gees, symphonic rock of ELO, a new Queen song, "Wi will rock you" (very big moment of the show), to finally listen live to the legendary British rock band the Who as magnificent climax to the 17 days of Olympic Games

I only regret the absence of such bands as The Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode or Iron Maiden.
Even thought it was an outstanding light show but especially this time an outstanding performance of sounds

It's simply incredibly how great genius never die and even after death are able to make millions of persons sing with them.

Can I Bite That Apple  ?

3 Apples have changed our lives more than we can imagine.
1st one vas eva's apple, 2nd one was that one which  felt on Isaac Newton's head and the 3rd one was the apple invented by a visionary genius who died one year ago, October 5th, that genius was Steve Jobs .

Steve reinvented the hole world of communication, he started in his garage with a friend and end up having one of the most successful companies in the world.
Nowadays people remember him as the genius he was.
But i want to remember him as the person that believe that he was going to be able to connect the dots in the future looking backwards .

As the one who found the way for making sophisticated things based on very simples ideas.

But specially for being the person who found what he loved to do, he dedicated his life to what he though it was great job.

Today apple remembers him with this memorial tribute, and Tim Cook, nowadays apple's CEO, have publish on apple's home page a message saying how this first year without Steve has been difficult, and the legacy he lead us.

He really enjoyed what he did, if you watch any of the apple's presentations (or Keynotes) you'd see that he is really happy, maybe because he was crazy, but as he said: "The people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do it."

Why can't any of us be crazy??

where to eat ?

I´ve decided to start a new section about where to eat in the places i visit.

Why ? because i'm eating in an spectacular place in Caldas (Galicia, spain) righ next to the auberg for pilgrims, it´s in front of the roumain bridge and it's called "Ponte Romana".

Well the hospitality they share is just amazing and i still have no words for describing the meal that Juan have just gave us.

I hardly recomend you that if you decide to come to Caldas no mater if you're doing the "camino de santiago" or just visiting the place you should just go inside and ask for something to eat don't worry if they don't have a menu on their door i'm sure that if Juan treats you half good of what he treated us you'll realice why Saint James decided to stay in Galicia.

Do you think learning is boring?

So well i´m not going to tell you that you're wrong because sometimes it is certainly tedious, but maybe your problem is that you just haven't found yet  the right way of learning.

It is also true that we're living in a technological world, but this involves a problem: while the society has change at a staggering pace during the las century, the way of educating people is almost the same; as a student i can tell you that sometimes when you cross the school door it seems like you're traveling in time,  it is like if all those technological objets don't exist, you can't use any of them at any time.

And in my opinion this is what we've to change, we've everything for making school a place where kids want to go because they want to learn and not just a boring place where you have to spend six hours of your day five days a week.

And this is what these teachers are trying to do, they are trying to humanize the classrooms by using technology and making the students interact with the teachers and with each other.

He does not teach only about maths, but also about physics, chemistry, history, and so on...
He's trying to reinvent education and he has created a web page (http://www.khanacademy.org/ ) where you can find all his videos and create and account where you'll be able to see your progress, the videos you've watched, the ones that they recommend you...

Do you want to stop?

Sometimes in life you feel like nothing can stop you
Don't worry, that's normal,
when you win a race, are with friends, love what you're doing...
You simply feel alive.
Live this moments and look for them because you only live once and it's not worth it spending it being sad and bored.
So if you think (at any time) that you can start feeling bad just don't let the world stop you, listen to Queen and DON'T LET ANYTHING STOP YOU

So DON'T STOP ME NOW

Who do you follow?

We weren't born to follow, you have to make your own path if you don't want to be humdrum.
This song goes for all of those that try to make this world a better place by doing different things,
for those who believe in what they can do,
for those who fight everyday for what they want,
for those who aren't afraid of DREAMING.

Stop making excuses, life may sometimes seems a bitter pill to swallow but the only thing you have to do it's keep believing, you will be surprised how bright the sun can be if you look at it properly.

Never give up on what you believe and stop following mediocrity.
We weren't born to follow.

Do you believe ?

IMPOSSIBLE is nothing, the word itself says I'M POSSIBLE

Believe in yourself and everything you fight for, all your illusions, dreams, goals... will get real soon or lately.

Also congratulations to all my teammates that also have done a great work inside and outside the pool.
I has been just unforgettable.

What would you do if someday everything you have disappeared ?

It's not the first time that Japan has to reborn from their ashes as a phoenix.
Only 11 months after the earthquake and the tsunami this is how the Japanese people have comeback.

We should learn many things about them, specially about how even though they sometimes fall too deep, they can get up and work all together for a better country.

Congratulations Japan.

When life gets you down you know what you gotta do?

It doesn't matter how many obstacles are there between you and your goal, as long as you fight for it and never give up, you'll get it

JUST KEEP SWIMMING
JUST KEEP FIGHTING

Where do you belong to?

There's sometimes that you feel proud of yourself, your family, your friends, your COUNTRY...
I'M SPANISH = SOY ESPAÑOL and you? where do you belong to?

How does a mitochondria works?

It can seem like a star wars films but in fact it is part of our cells

The universe is everywhere

Are you making excuses?

Don't make excuses for anything, sport, work, life...

Maybe it's my fault.
Maybe I led you to believe it was easy when it wasn't.
Maybe I made you think my highlights started at the free throw line, and not in the gym.
Maybe I made you think that every shot I took was a game winner.
That my game was built on flash, and not fire.
Maybe it's my fault that that you didn't see that failure gave me strength;
That my pain was my motivation.
Maybe I led you to believe that basketball was a God given gift, and not something I worked for... every single day of my life.
Maybe I destroyed the game.
Or maybe... you're just making excuses.

What are you made of ?

I´m made of sport

This is the new amazing Asics add coinciding with the olimpic year.
So...What are you made of?

I'm made of belief, not barriers
I'm made of sweat, not swagger
I'm made of many, not one
I'm made of the next point, not the last
I'm made of blazing trails, not following paths
I'm made of every hurdle i've cleared not just the ones on the track
I am made of all the days you don't see, not just the ones you do
I am made of everything to come, not just what has been
I am made of sport
