Old Rock Stars Never Die

Freddie Mercury died today 22 years ago but his music will be with us forever

As a last gift knowing he was going to die he recorded the album Innuendo between 1889 and 1990
If you hear those lyrics you'll see Freddie's farewell. It's an album full of positive messages and living the now but also how AIDS was slowly killing him.

But although he passed away November 24th 1991 he will life forever
It's the only one who has sing in two Olympic Games... after dead (Barcelona 1992 and London 2012)

"I wont be a rock star, I will be a legend"

Can you fell the Wind of Change?

Yesterday (November 9th) 24 years ago took place one of the most important moments in human history.
The Berlin Wall Fall
Erected in the death of night (August 13th 1961), was both the physical division between West Berlin and East Germany from 1961 to 1989 and the symbolic boundary between democracy and communism during the Cold War.
It also came to symbolize the "Iron Curtain" that separated Western Europe and the Eastern Bloc for 28 years keeping East germans from fleeing to the West.

The fall of the wall paved the way for german reunification, with formally concluded on October 3rd 1990.

But the wall was not impenetrable, around 5.000 people successfully crossed it.

Many people contributed to the Berlin Wall Fall but it's important to highlight three of them whose influence was decisive: Johannes Paulus II, Ronald Reagan (US president) and Mikhail Gorbachev (Soviet Union Leader).

"Wind of Change" (Crazy World album) was written by Klaus Meine, vocalist of the german rock band "Scorpions" it's a power ballad  inspired by the social and political situation East Europe was living.

In 1988 the group's 10th album was released and they promoted it with the Savage Amusement Tour which included 10 performances in the URSS. Becoming this way the first rock group that penetrated the "Iron Curtain".

The "wind of change" atmosphere they feel during this tour was what really made Klaus write the song.

It talks about change, and how all human beings should stop for a moment and think if what we are doing to each other is what you would do to your brother (as we all share the same surname "homo sapiens"). It looks for a world without "walls" or any kind of barriers where kids are aloud to dream away.

Livin' in the now

Years go on amazingly fast and most of the times we don't even realize about it because we're thinking about other stuff that might not be as important as being happy, it's important to realize from time to time that life is nonsense without fun.

You can be a star, you can break the mould, you just need to gleam.

Remember to shoot for the moon, even if you miss you'll land among the stars.

The World Is Just Awesome !

First of all I have to apologize because I know it's been a while since my last post, but i've been extremely busy these days

Any way it was earth's day on monday
I don't know if you usually listen to the nature, but it's just amazing.
As the discovery channel add said few years ago The World Is Just AWESOME

I'm proud of being part of this little planet that we call earth and i love every part of it.
It might be true that we're destroying it little by little and that all those new technologies are supposed to substitute part of it's nature, but I don't really believe about those predictions, I do believe we're changing our philosophy and people nowadays it's more concerned about what it means to live here, and it's consequences.

We live in this little planet, and next time you'll go out at night just look up to all those starts and planets, and thank God for living in such a great little planet.

Do you read?

It doesn't need batteries, either wi-fi, it will never let you down, you can trust it, it is marvelous and eternity.

Every book is a world and I'm going to open a new section of my blog where I'll be sharing quotes from some of the books i've enjoyed the most

Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Marina
"- Patience is science's mother offered Marina.
- And the godmother of dementia, 'I replied. "

"Marina told me once that we only remember what never happened"

Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind

"Words are pale shadows of forgotten names. As names have power, words have power. Words can light fires in the minds of men. Words can wring tears from the hardest hearts.”

“When we are children we seldom think of the future. This innocence leaves us free to enjoy ourselves as few adults can. The day we fret about the future is the day we leave our childhood behind.”

“Using words to talk of words is like using a pencil to draw a picture of itself, on itself. Impossible. Confusing. Frustrating ... but there are other ways to understanding.”

“Just pity him, my boy. Tomorrow we'll be on our way, but he'll have to keep his own disagreeable company until the day he dies.”

"A tree doesn't make thunderstorm, but any fool knows where lighting's going to strike"

“The best lies about me are the ones I told.”

“Practice makes the master.”
"Half of seeming clever is keeping your mouth shut at the right times"

Read, Imagine, Enjoy

Are you afraid?

I've just come back from the pool and this has been pretty much the song stuck in my head this week.

You have to be brave, believe that somehow the actions you take will be the right ones, not be afraid about the future, it will come be patient.

Enjoy your beautiful life, live in the now, and most important of all do not regret what you've done, at that time it was probably the best choice you could have so, don't waste your time apologizing trying to convince yourself or anybody else about the past business.

But remember just like freedom, nothing's free, so
push your luck,
say your prayers,
make believe you don't care,
Take a chance, sometimes is all you need.

Have you found the music that inspires you? London 2012 Closing Ceremony. Inspire a Generation

If anybody suggest you the possibility of attending to an event where you would be able to listen sounds as exclusive and important for the music story as The Beatles, John Lennon, Queen, Freddie Mercury, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, The Who, Bee Gees or la E.L.O all of them with the great work of such artist as Emili Sande, The Pet Shop Boys, Mandess, Kate Bush, George Michael, Spice Girls, Oasis, Annie Lenox, Kaiser Chiefs, Fatboy Slim, Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Taio Cruz o Take That the answer you should give could not be other but: when and where?

The closing ceremony of the XXX Olympic Games of the Modern Era was the best song that could render to the Coubertin Olympic spirit sealed a century ago because it's the music and no other ones the unique art able to rise the human spirit to the point of putting up to 90,000 people to the rhythm of "Imagine" by Lennon.
Bitish people can and should be proud of a nation of vital importance in recent centuries when it comes to music. The night of the 12th of July of 2012 will remain etched in the memory of all of those who love the sport but especially in that of all who wish to be on a level playing field, if possible with good background music.

The strokes on the Big Ben's bells announced the beginning of the end of this Olympic Games. Sir. Winston Churchill, The Union Jack and the Monthy Pithon were only examples of what was about to start.

(Emeli Sande - read all about it)

Two masterpieces of music that in two hundred years will be studied at schools as we now study the classics (Beethoven, Wagner, Chopin ...), placed upside down to respectable:

The "Imagine" by Lennon and the wonderful weirdness that is the "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen thundered strongly the Olympic Stadium and the  minds of nearly a hundred thousand souls were immediately abducted by a halo of basically peace, an immense joy and happiness shared.
The music is this and more

"Wish you where here" by Pink Floyd, the hulking great song self-titled album of 1975, "You Should Be Dancing" by Bee Gees, symphonic rock of ELO, a new Queen song, "Wi will rock you" (very big moment of the show), to finally listen live to the legendary British rock band the Who as magnificent climax to the 17 days of Olympic Games

I only regret the absence of such bands as The Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode or Iron Maiden.
Even thought it was an outstanding light show but especially this time an outstanding performance of sounds

It's simply incredibly how great genius never die and even after death are able to make millions of persons sing with them.

The complete ceremony: ceremonia completa HD

Thanks Luis (my cousin) for helping me with this piece of my blog.
